Donald Trump is almost at the end of one of the hardest-fought elections in history.
He spilled the beans about what’s gone through this election cycle.
And an NFL linebacker was shocked to hear about this tough fight from Donald Trump.
Donald Trump heads to podcast with two former NFL players
Former President Donald Trump has made hitting the podcast circuit hard as part of his media strategy.
He’s made inroads with men in Gen Z and he’s speaking to them in a popular medium for them.
Trump appeared on the popular Barstool Sports podcast, Bussin’ with the Boys, where he talked about bouncing back from lawfare and multiple assassination attempts against him.
The podcast is hosted by former Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan and former NFL linebacker Will Compton.
Trump was asked about how he handled lawfare and assassination attempts against him.
He noted that everything he’s gone through during this election “has made me popular,” which helps him handle it.
“I try not to think about it. […] I just say, screw it. Whatever happens, happens,” Trump said. “And do the right thing.”
Trump added that not taking everything too seriously kept the challenges he’s faced from grinding him down.
“I try to take it less seriously than I should. I should take it more seriously, but if I did that, I don’t think I’d be with you guys today,” Trump explained. “I really don’t. I fight very hard. […] You have to fight like hell and try not to let it get you down.”
The former President amazingly still keeps a positive attitude after facing countless obstacles on his quest to return to the White House.
Trump’s new media strategy explained
The power of cable news is declining as ratings drop and a growing number of people cut the cord from cable.
Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly outperforms legacy media outlets like NBC and CBS on YouTube in terms of views.
Trump revealed that his son, Barron Trump, has advised which podcasts that he needs to go on this election cycle as he looks to court young voters.
He told the hosts that Barron was a big fan of their podcast.
“My son said dad, you got to do those with them,” Trump said. “Those guys are great. You know I have a son of 6’9”. How tall are you?”
Taylor Lewan is 6’7”.
The hosts asked him what he would do to bring the country together if he won in November.
“You want to see the country united, but we have two very different, you have a very conservative side and a conservative side and then you have people that want to see an open border and things,” Trump said.
Trump thought that the country was uniting during his first term before the pandemic hit and noted that success brings people together.
“I’m telling you the country was coming together,” Trump explained. “Despite the fact that, you know, what we were saying before about the divisions.”
“I’ll tell you I experienced unbelievable success leading the country just prior to COVID,” Trump continued. “Numbers at the stock market [were] at an all-time, everything was like perfect and the country was coming together.”
