Megyn Kelly expressed disbelief that Jack Smith got something even better than a trial against Donald Trump in his January 6 witch hunt.
Obama Judge Tanya Chutkan took the unusual step of releasing Smith’s 165-page filing about why the sham charges Smith brought against Trump for January 6 should be allowed to stand in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling on Presidential immunity.
The brief allowed Smith to release his entire case to the public, with the added benefit of this move denying Trump the chance to stress test the evidence in court under cross examination, the rules of evidence and the ability to introduce evidence of his own to contradict Smith’s claims.
This document amounted to an Obama-appointed Judge and the Biden-Harris Department of Justice declaring Trump guilty before any trial took place.
Megyn Kelly calls BS
Megyn Kelly – who is a trained lawyer – walked her audience through the brief on her show.
Kelly told listeners that she was critical of the way Trump acted in the aftermath of the 2020 election.
“Here’s my number one takeaway, Trump behaved terribly after he lost that election, and you’ve heard me say that from Election Day 2020 all the way forward. You’ve heard me defend Mike Pence — I know a lot of you disagree with me,” Kelly began.
Kelly said the brief Smith submitted proved nothing other than Smith tried to criminalize Trump’s conduct as President and that he wanted to hurt Trump’s chance of winning the election this time around.
“That’s fine, we can disagree, we often do. But this is a private and a political matter, this is not a criminal matter. And Jack Smith is doing acrobatics, Cirque du Soleil level, to try to make this somehow a crime. Now he unveils this — in this dramatic, ‘Oh here it is. It’s unsealed, the public must see it before [election day],’” Kelly added.
Kelly said this brief was just a rehash of the January 6 impeachment hoax and the January 6 witch hunt committee.
This brief – Kelly argued – was just a 165-page MSNBC-style rant from a prosecutor who hates Trump and will bend the law as far as necessary to send him to jail.
“It’s the same s*** we have seen. We had an impeachment trial. We had a prime time week-long January 6th, you know, public condemnation trial. We’ve had January 6 witnesses leading the news on every other news station for years. We’ve had books written like we know, he behaved badly. All of it lacks any context, and I’m not saying it was at the same level, but lacks any context when it comes to Democratic efforts to overturn elections like Hillary Clinton, Stacy Abrams, there’s a long list. This is now just one guy who clearly can’t stand Donald Trump and his 165-page reasons why,” Kelly said.
