Donald Trump was stunned at this awful message from the Secret Service

Sep 23, 2024

The ability of the Secret Service to keep Donald Trump safe is in question.

Hard conversations are being had about the path forward.

And Donald Trump was stunned at this awful message from the Secret Service.

Secret Service claims it can’t keep Donald Trump safe without changes

The second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in two months has the Secret Service in the hot seat once again.

58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh was able to create a sniper’s nest at the chain linked fence that runs along the sixth hole of the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Secret Service agents were able to foil Routh, but the incident raised disturbing questions about Trump’s security.

Routh waited for 12 hours based on cell phone data obtained by federal prosecutors for the former President to play through.

No one spotted him with a scoped rifle while he crossed a busy highway and waited half a day for Trump.

Acting Secret Service director Ronald Rowe met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate about his security situation moving forward.

The New York Times reported that Rowe told Trump that significant changes have to be made to his security if he wants to play golf at some of his courses.

Roads and public areas near the golf courses were cited as security challenges for the Secret Service.

The Trump International Golf Club runs along several busy roads in West Palm Beach.

Rowe suggested that Trump stick to playing golf at the course at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland because it’s on a military base.

Controversy over Trump’s security moving forward

Trump’s campaign has been requesting more resources from the Secret Service since he was shot at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

Because he’s not a sitting President, he hasn’t gotten the same level of resources from the Secret Service as President Joe Biden.

Trump’s team protested that Biden was able to go to the beach, but Trump had to potentially cut back on playing golf.

Golf has been Trump’s favorite recreational activity for a long time and he generally plays every week.

RealClearPolitics political correspondent Susan Crabtree told Newsmax that there is a discrepancy between how the Secret Service protects Trump versus Biden when they play golf.

“Trump just does not have the number of special agents he needs to protect him,” Crabtree explained. “There should have been a lot more than just one special agent walking that perimeter line.”

Only one Secret Service agent was reportedly patrolling the perimeter of the Trump International Golf Club.

Rowe revealed that a thorough search of the perimeter wasn’t conducted on the day of the assassination attempt.

“Certainly, I’m told that when Joe Biden goes golfing, or when he did in Wilmington, those perimeter lines were secured,” Crabtree said. “The golf course was locked down, and the roads outside of it were also locked down.”

Donald Trump is being forced to deal with security issues instead of the election because of the Secret Service’s failures.
