Time is winding down on Karine Jean-Pierreās career as Press Secretary.
Her last couple of months on the job could be some of her toughest.
And Karine Jean-Pierre was fuming after Peter Doocy put her in this bad spot.
Karine Jean-Pierre stumbles trying to defend Kamala Harris
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was used to having to defend President Joe Biden in press briefings.
But Biden has almost disappeared from the public spotlight after he announced that he was ending his re-election campaign in July.
Now, Jean-Pierre is facing a growing number of questions about Vice President Kamala Harris because the new Democrat Presidential candidate continues to dodge the press.
Sheās sat down for one interview with CNNās Dana Bash since she entered the race.
Bash asked Kamala about the numerous flip-flops sheās made on things like banning fracking after she started running for President.
āI think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is that my values have not changed,ā Harris explained.
Trying to explain Kamala Harrisā policies is a herculean task
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked Jean-Pierre about Kamalaās frequent flip-flops of policy positions.
āIf the Vice Presidentās values have not changed, why have so many of her positions on policies changed?ā Doocy asked.
āI would say look at what the Vice President has done with this President the last three-and-half years,ā Jean-Pierre replied. āLook what weāve been able to do.ā
Kamala has been trying to distance herself from the unpopular administration she serves in on the campaign trail.
The White House Press Secretary tried to blame Republicans for the border crisis to explain away Kamalaās flip-flops.
āLook what weāve been able to do at that border without much help from Republicans, because theyāre too busy listening to our former President sadly, and telling them not to actually do the things that the majority of Americans want to see them doing, and that being dealing with the challenges at the border,ā Jean-Pierre ranted.
That had nothing to do with the question that Doocy asked her.
Kamala avoids the press so she doesnāt have to explain why she started to back away from unpopular left-wing policy positions after she started running for President.
Jean-Pierre canāt come up with a plausible explanation either.
Doocy didnāt let up on grilling her about Kamalaās ever-evolving beliefs.
āVice President Harris once said years ago that she wanted to decriminalize illegal border crossing,ā Doocy said. āNow she’s saying that her values haven’t changed. And so how much ownership does she have for this latest NYPD stat that 75 percent of arrests in midtown Manhattan lately have been migrants?ā
Jean-Pierre was caught off guard by the question.
āMy goodness, there’s a lot in that question,ā Jean-Pierre exclaimed. āAnd, I mean, look, just going back to the values, and obviously the Vice President can speak for herself, and her campaign will speak for herself, for her, her values haven’t changed. And you heard that on the interview that she did with CNN very recently, and I think that’s important. I think someone’s values matter, and that’s what you see from the Vice President, and certainly that’s what you see from this president.ā
Karine Jean-Pierre couldnāt offer a coherent explanation for Kamalaās flip-flops.
No one can explain the absurd rebranding the Vice President has undergone since entering the race.
Thatās why Kamala is going to be planted by teleprompter and away from the press for the rest of the campaign.
