And now Kevin Costner had a life-changing call with this Hollywood actress.
Costner’s new movie set for theaters
Costner recently announced he was officially leaving Yellowstone due to his new Horizon: An American Saga film series hitting theaters.
The movie sees Costner’s tale of the settling of the American West around the time of the Civil War.
Sienna Miller – best known for her role in the Academy Award winning film American Sniper – costars in the movie.
Miller told Fox News Digital that a call from Costner about starring in the film excited her to no end as she was a child of the 1990s who grew up loving Costner’s work.
“Well, I got a call. Be still my ’90s heart,” Miller told Fox News.
Miller said she initially figured Costner wanted to speak to her about Yellowstone, but that she was thrilled to learn Costner wanted her to play alongside him in a series of films.
“It said Kevin Costner would like to speak to you about a project that he’s doing. I then got four scripts, so I was like, it must be TV. It wasn’t. It’s for movies. And then there’s Kevin Costner on the Zoom, and I was beside myself. Anyway, we had a wonderful conversation. We got along very well. And at the end of it, he said, ‘Sienna, I have one question for you.’ And I said, ‘Yes, Kevin.’ And he went, ‘Will you go West with me?’ I died, I died,” Miller added.
“I was like, ‘Yes, yes, I will go. I will go to the moon and back a million times,’” Miller continued.
Costner’s depiction of the West brings in a big name cast
Costner first became synonymous with films about the West due to 1990’s Dances With Wolves, which won an Oscar for Best Picture and for which Costner took home an Academy Award for Best Director in his debut effort.
Miller revealed that she was such a big fan of that movie that she named two of her rabbits after a wolf and horse from the film.
“I had Cleopatra, Thumper, Badger, Two Socks, and Cisco,” Miller revealed.
“I was a huge fan of that movie,” Miller stated.
“It broke my heart and [I] was very obsessed with Kevin from that moment forth,” Miller concluded.
Actor Sam Worthington – the star of the mega hit Avatar franchise – also plays in Horizon.
Worthington explained that it was Costner’s approach to directing that drew him to these pictures.
“I just like working with directors that take risks and are trying to challenge themselves in storytelling,” Worthington said in an interview with Fox News Digital.
Worthington compared the storytelling process on the Horizon films to Avatar.
“That’s what we do on ‘Avatar.’ And with this, it’s a more traditional way of filmmaking. But at the same time, he’s not telling a plot-driven story,” Worthington declared.
“He’s taken an almost like a novelistic approach to the journey of these characters – to this central character, which is the town of Horizon. And I thought that was a very unique way of approaching,” Worthington concluded.
