John Fetterman admitted one truth about Donald Trump that Joe Biden wished he never said

May 31, 2024

John Fetterman was asked the critical question about the 2024 election.

Fetterman couldn’t help but answer honestly.

And John Fetterman admitted one truth about Donald Trump that Joe Biden wished he never said.

Fetterman says Biden’s in trouble in Pennsylvania

In the 2016 and 2020 elections, Pennsylvania played the determinative role in picking the President.

Pundits, election experts, and both campaigns believe the same will be true again in November.

That’s why Joe Biden has practically lived in Pennsylvania since taking office in 2021.

But Democrats in the Commonwealth know how fragile Joe Biden’s position really is.

In an interview on Morning Joe, Senator John Fetterman didn’t try to sugarcoat the state of play.

“I fundamentally believe that it’s going to be a close race,” Fetterman admitted.

Fetterman said it was a close race in 2020, but that Donald Trump was far stronger than Democrats and the media want to admit.

“But Biden carried Pennsylvania by 80,000 votes, and now, he has a strong record, but it’s still going to be close,” Fetterman added.

“Trump has a strong kind of position in Pennsylvania. He definitely does, but I don’t believe he can win, ultimately,” he continued.

The RealClearPolitics polling average shows Trump leading Biden by 2.3 points in Pennsylvania.

It’s been decades since a Republican polled that strongly in Pennsylvania.

Fetterman still thinks it’s 2020

Fetterman is the latest Democrat to not get what’s going on in the country.

Democrats think they can rerun the 2020 campaign where just shouting “orange man bad” is enough to win.

“I really do think, though, that the main issue is the personalities. It’s like, what do you want? I’m a voter, do I want that kind of chaos and that kind of depravity? Or do you want a decent president that got us through the pandemic, that has been addressing inflation, and now has been addressing wars, both in the Ukraine and in Gaza as well, too,” Fetterman added.

Fetterman’s attempt to defend Joe Biden on the merits also fell flat because one of the big problems Joe Biden has is that the American people agree with Fetterman that Biden addressed inflation.

The problem is the public thinks Biden addressed inflation by causing the crisis in the first place.

“If you really think that Trump is going to make any of those situations better, I mean, that’s their choice, but I do believe that enough Pennsylvanians are going to decide that this is our guy,” Fetterman added.

Poll denialism reigns supreme in the Democrat Party

Even though all the high quality media polls from Fox News, New York Times/Siena, USA Today/Suffolk, CBS News, Marist, and CNN all showed Fetterman winning, Fetterman tried to say the polls were wrong in his race because a handful of partisan Republican polling firms dropped late surveys showing Dr. Oz leading him.

“All these polls now, I’m not really concerned about that,” Fetterman declared. “The polls had me that I was going to lose by up to 1 or 2 points, and we won by 5. So, I do believe that it’s a very close race.”

But there is a case to be made that if anything, the polls are underestimating Trump’s strength in Pennsylvania.

Trump was the only Republican since 1988 to win Pennsylvania, and even in that race, the final RealClearPolitics polling average showed Hillary Clinton leading Trump by 2.1 points.

On Election Day, Trump outperformed that number.

Trump also outperformed the polls nationally and in key swing states in 2020 as well.
