This Hollywood legend just endorsed Donald Trump

May 31, 2024

Signs keep popping up all over the place that this election cycle will be very different from 2020.

Trump’s support and momentum continue to grow.

And now this Hollywood legend just endorsed Donald Trump.

Dennis Quaid endorses Donald Trump

Dennis Quaid became a movie star with his role in the 1983 classic, The Right Stuff.

Quaid then proceeded to star in hits like Innerspace, The Big Easy, and Great Balls of Fire.

This summer, Quaid stars as Ronald Reagan in the patriotic theme film Reagan.

Quaid’s been making the media rounds to promote the film, and in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Quaid came out and endorsed Trump for President.

This wasn’t a decision Quaid made lightly.

Quaid said he was planning on not voting for Trump.

But what turned Quaid into a Trump supporter was the fact that Democrats thought their only chance to beat Trump was drafting a bunch of partisan prosecutors into a campaign of forcing Trump to stand for show trials.

“I was ready not to vote for Trump . . . [It] is more than politics. I see a weaponization of our justice system,” Quaid stated.

Quaid remarked that Democrats, the media, and a cabal of partisan prosecutors spent the last eight years investigating Donald Trump.

And the best they could come up with was claiming Trump stole the 2016 election by labeling a payment to his lawyer as for legal services.

“Trump is the most investigative person probably in the history of the world, and they haven’t been able to really get him,” Quaid remarked.

Quaid added that people may not like Trump’s style, but that he gets the job done.

“People might call him an a**hole, but he is my a**hole,” Quaid concluded.

Quaid expands on his support for Trump

In a separate interview with Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters about the Reagan movie, Quaid said he saw similarities between Trump and Reagan after Trump’s rally in the South Bronx.

“I really admire Trump for going into the neighborhoods,” Quaid stated.

Quaid said the Democrats weaponizing the justice system against Trump helped boost his poll numbers because people could see the unfairness of the entire situation.

“You know, people relate to that. They really do. If anything, all these events that been conspiring against him have actually made him more human to people,” Quaid added.

“Donald Trump has been talking about cleaning house, which, you know, kind of making a clean sweep to start over. That doesn’t mean being a dictator. That just means that we started doing what the American people have asked us to do,” Quaid continued.

Quaid described the Trump rally in the South Bronx in the context of Reagan’s visit to the neighborhood in the 1980 campaign.

In 1976, Jimmy Carter drove through the South Bronx and promised to renew failing urban neighborhoods.

Four years later, Reagan compared the state of affairs in the South Bronx to Lebanon and held the tattered buildings and crime-ridden streets up as the symbol of Carter’s failed leadership.

Quaid said the visit could have backfired bigtime on Reagan.

“It took guts to go there,” Quaid stated. “He could have wound up with egg on his face.”

Similarly, Trump could have been booed out of the South Bronx considering Joe Biden won over 80 percent of the vote there.

Instead, thousands of supporters showed up to cheer Trump on.
