International markets get some of the most innovative and delicious items in fast food.
One American classic just got a tasty makeover in a neighboring country.
And Wendy’s released a new menu item that had Americans wanting to cross the border.
The Frosty is an All-American treat
The Frosty was invented by Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas in 1969 and remains a staple on the chain’s menu to this day.
Thomas created its unique flavor by blending chocolate and vanilla because he believed that pure chocolate would detract from the delicious taste of his famous square hamburgers.
With a consistency somewhere between a milkshake and soft serve ice cream, the Frosty has become one of the most popular sweet treats in fast food.
Fans have even been known to dip their French fries in it.
For decades, customers could only pick the classic chocolate Frosty.
It wasn’t until 2006 that Wendy’s finally introduced a second flavor, vanilla.
Since then, the fast-food chain has occasionally rolled out different flavors of the Frosty for a limited time, including strawberry, peppermint, and pumpkin spice.
In 2019, to mark the 50th anniversary of its introduction on the menu at Wendy’s, the Birthday Cake Frosty Cookie Sundae was released.
Now, one of the most interesting variants of the Frosty has been introduced north of the border in Canada.
Wendy’s unveils White Chocolate Strawberry Frosty
Wendy’s locations throughout Canada are getting the limited-edition White Chocolate Strawberry Frosty.
It is made by mixing strawberry purée with a classic Vanilla Frosty and then topped with shaved pieces of white chocolate.

Unfortunately, this unique Frosty creation is only available in Canada, but fast-food lovers can hold out hope that it makes its way to the U.S.
But that didn’t stop some fans on social media from considering traveling north of the border to get their hands on one.
“Maybe I should take a quick trip to Canada,” a comment read.
“Booking [my] ticket now,” another stated.
This is the latest Canadian fast-food ice cream creation to go viral on social media.
Last year, McDonald’s released a Squishmallows McFlurry, a blueberry-flavored creation based on the stuffed toy.
Wendy’s didn’t leave Frosty lovers in America empty-handed.
They debuted the Orange Dreamsicle Frosty to celebrate spring.
Its flavor is supposed to be a nostalgic throwback to orange creamsicle bars.
“We continue to see so much passion from our customers to try new, seasonal Frosty flavors,” Wendy’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Lindsay Radkoski said. “With Orange Dreamsicle Frosty, we’re building even more Frosty fandom with our first ever spring-inspired Frosty flavor. Orange Dreamsicle Frosty delivers sweet nostalgia in every bite.”
Frosty fans have some creative options to look forward to on the menu.
