Democrats are conspiring to lock up Donald Trump before Election Day.
Donald Trump’s lawyers are fighting back against this lawfare.
And now Alina Habba crushed this anti-Trump judge’s plan to jail Trump.
Judge threatens Donald Trump with jail time over unconstitutional gag order
Joe Biden donor and Judge Juan Merchan complained that he could only fine Donald Trump $1,000 per gag order violation in Alvin Bragg’s criminal trial.
Merchan wrote that $1,000 “unfortunately will not achieve the desired result in those instances where the contemnor can easily afford such a fine.”
In the order, Merchan opened the door to jailing Joe Biden’s political opponent in the middle of a Presidential campaign.
Since Trump was wealthy enough to afford the fine, Merchan wrote that he “must therefore consider whether in some instances, jail may be a necessary punishment.”
These gag orders are the trap that Democrat prosecutors like Alvin Bragg and Jack Smith want to set for Trump.
They know Democrats will use the trials to attack Trump witnesses like Michael Cohen, who are openly campaigning against him.
A Presidential candidate can’t let attacks go unanswered.
But if Trump responds, then Judge Merchan will throw him in jail and Democrats can scare Americans about him not being able to serve as President because he’s behind bars.
Alina Habba filets Judge Merchan
Alina Habba wasn’t about to let Judge Merchan get away with this transparent election meddling.
Habba told Fox News Channel’s Martha MacCallum that “let’s be clear what we are talking about” with regards to the sneaky game Merchan tried to play.
Habba explained that this is really a political proceeding where Democrats and witnesses like Michael Cohen are launching pot shots at Trump over the trial as part of the Presidential election.
“We are talking about a defendant in a criminal case who’s being attacked politically, who’s being attacked by his opponents, who’s also being attacked by witnesses,” Habba added.
Cohen – Habba pointed out – retains his complete First Amendment rights while Trump’s are restricted.
“And the witnesses in this case have no gag,” Habba declared.
Habba said this level of political bias – where Merchan donated to Joe Biden and his daughter helps run a political consulting firm that raises money for Democrats like Adam Schiff – crosses the line.
“That is the exact reason this judge needs to recuse,” Habba stated.
The media pretends like all of this is normal.
That’s because journalists don’t care about the truth.
Stopping Donald Trump is their only concern.
And if destroying the American people’s faith in the legal system by turning it into the political sword and shield for the Democrat Party accomplishes that goal, then the Left is willing to live with that outcome.
